Building Health Check

When we look at a house that we might be about to buy, we very often forget that houses are complicated structures. We may possibly feel that we would notice if there were to be a defect in the property. Some of us may even be under a possible misconception that houses last forever. Surveyors specialise in building pathology and building defects, they learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of defects in buildings , just like a doctor who has learnt to diagnose 

an illness from the signs and symptoms. Getting to know the human body in order to diagnose is human pathology. Surveyors are building pathologists, they have studied the construction of buildings and the signs and symptoms of defects (illness within the building). If we ignore the illness signs and symptoms we can become ill and spend a lot of time off work, which will cost money in lost wages. If we wrongly assume there is no illness with our home or the house we are about to buy, it would not be loss of wages but the costs of repairs that can run into thousands of pounds. This is the gamble you take when you buy a property without a building survey. The term often used nowadays by building pathogolists (building Surveyors) for a building survey is a Building Health Check, this is what a a building survey is, its a health check on the property.

I specialise in my own type of building survey, although i can do other types of surveys such as RICS, HVS and HPS. I believe that a building survey should be tailored to suit your needs and the service that you receive should be personal. I offer you that personal touch survey through our Building Survey Report. I believe however, that you want to know more about the property you are planning to purchase rather than just simple numerical ratings of 1 (normal maintenance, 2 (in need of repair) or 3 (further investigation is required). All building surveys can be different, i will discuss any concerns with you that you might have about a property, or if you just want a new home you are buying to be checked over and a personal report compiled on it by me. I will give you my personal service right from the start of your enquiry. When you contact me it will be the same surveyor to take you from the initial contact right through to the end of your report. I will discuss what you want from your survey, maybe it is just one problem you are concerned with, or maybe you want that basic survey which checks the property you want to

purchase. Whatever you want from your survey i will discuss exactly your needs and personally write down the terms of engagement for your survey, explaining exactly what the survey does and does not involve.

I believe that a building survey is the type of survey you deserve, after all when you buy your home you are making the biggest financial committment of your life. Can you imagine buying a car for thousands of pounds and not having an MOT?
