I am an experienced and professional Energy Assessor offering a personal, professional and efficient service working excusively in Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, Witney, Kidlington and areas around these towns in Oxfordshire. I have been carrying out and issuing EPCs since they were first required, I have not only carried out these surveys for a number of years but I have also taught Energy Assessing to up and coming Energy Assessors for a national company.

Today we know that if you want to sell or rent out your home or property, you need an Energy Performance Certificate (commonly called a EPC). To issue an EPC the Assessor has to be licensed by an approved Government body. I am licensed by The Building Research Establishment, an approved Government body to carry out the EPC survey and issue Domestic EPCs. My fee for carrying out the survey, lodging and issuing a EPC is only £40.00 VAT Free for up to a 4 bedroom house.

The survey can take up to one hour to carry out depending on the property. The survey makes note of the construction of the building, your heating system and controls, the type of boiler, glazing, capacity of the property and other energy consuming and energy saving elements. This is then fed into a computer program that calculates your energy and CO2 consumption based on standard occupancy, it does not reflect the actual costs of of the energy bills. One thing it will do is reflect which property will be cheaper to heat and light etc.. e.g. three properties having running costs of say £200.00, £250.00 and £300.00. No matter what your normal usage of heating and lighting etc.. the lowest running cost for these services will always be the lowest running costs on the EPC, in this case the £200.00 EPC.

Most Estate Agents offer to commission an Energy Performance Certificate for you, this might sound less hassle than arranging one yourself, but in these days of cutting costs and saving money is this the best option? All it takes is one telephone call to me and I will do the rest, all you need to do is to be there for up to an hour. This can save you money, sometimes up to 50% of what an Estate Agent charges. Always remember it's your choice where you wish to obtain your EPC you are not required to get one from any particular company, agent or Assessor.
